HEIGH-HO. HEIGH-HO. IT’S OFF TO WORK I GO….

Ahhh, yes. It is time for me to break away from my stamp studio during the day and become a member of the work force again. BUT this does not mean I am giving up on my Etsy shop! I love making my cards and other goodies and definitely love visiting with all my wonderful friends every day. However, I am feeling a bit cramped and want to slightly strike my husband in the head with a solid object just because I can! HAH! I would never hurt my husband…NEVER (mua ha ha ha). LOL!!! Actually, Paul works out of the house so we share an office….we are together ALL day long…I need a break!! My sister knows me all too well…..I am a work-a-holic.....so being home all day is not condusive to my life style, yet!

So I guess you can say I have a touch of cabin fever…and some extra ‘dough’ wouldn’t hurt ;-) Two months ago, I was working in the corporate world as a manager in new home construction and, because of the lovely market, lay-off’s were ordered. Since January, 2008, the company I worked for ordered 7 lay offs….SEVEN! Sadly, my department was hit every single time and I was the one who had to make the decision on who stayed and who left. But on the seventh lay off it was my turn. Many people were shocked but I wasn’t…it was only a matter of time, and I have told everyone who felt sorry for me that they should be happy for me because I was bouncing off the wall with excitement. I needed to break away from the ugly world of corporate but didn’t know how….so I stayed until they had to pay me to leave- CHA CHING! LOL!!!

With this said, after lightly looking around, I received two job offers this week and have accepted one of them. The hours are perfect and I have weekends off, but the best part of it…I will still have plenty of time for my cards, shop, and most of all my friends and family!
Here's to another journey in my life and I am happy to have all of you here with me.
Love,
Laura

Oh congratulations Laura! If anyone can balance the demands of the corporate world and running a home business you can! I hope you LOVE your new job and it's everything you've hoped for. I'll miss you though, even though I know you'll still be around. Those mid day emails filled with laughs always bright my days!

Congrats!?? I think? LOL!
I completely understand about needing a break, but you will be missed darlin! KNOW that. The corporate world is a place I DO NOT like, but if I were at home ...everyday...I'd most likely get cabin fever too. Plus, change it a good thing, right? Mixin it up, workin it out! LOL
Srsly, congratulations YOU! You're gonna ROCK the work force! Whoot!!

Laura know how very proud I am of you and am just as happy as you are about your new job (okay, maybe not as happy as PAUL is ;) BUT... remember what I always tell you okay? DON'T overwork yourself, DON'T take on too much and above all, DO take time out for yourself :) Been there, done that, you know?

With that said - congratulations sis :)

Hey that's great! Congrats on the new job. Sounds like it was meant to be. Things generally happen for a reason, one door closes & another more exciting one opens up & all that. Hope you enjoy your new job :)

I'm sorry it took me so long to respond!! I set out on some errands today (might have a shop that wants my cards in it!!!) and ended up running over wet paint........in my husbands car! Yep, oops! I can hear you snickering, Debi ;-) She knows what this car means to Paul!! Fortunately, I was able to have it cleaned up right away.

OK...NOW for the GOOD stuff....

Thank you to everyone for your wonderful words!! THIS is what I will miss during the day...fabulous conversations amongst friends! Looks like I will have to take a lap top with me and visit during my lunch break ;-)

Oh, and Sharon, no need to worry! You will still be able to choke on your coffee over our emails every morning....I have found an option in Outlook that will allow me to schedule when I want my emails to be sent! HAH!! So I can write something the night before and you can choke the morning after! LOL!!!!!

OK..being serious again...I really do appreciate all of you and I am so very blessed to have you in my life.

Love and hugs,
Laura

I start on the 29th of this month. Since I have some time, I am going to tag along with my husband on his business trip to San Diego next week. I have some orders to fill so I will take my supplies with me :-) Aaahh...sitting on the beach making cards.
